The Insubong approach for the climb begins at the Doseonsa Temple Parking Lot (or Baekundae Hiking Support Center).
If you are driving, you can set your navigation to this location. While parking is free, spaces are extremely limited, so expect long wait times or full lots on weekends.
If the parking lot is full, the best option is to park at a public lot near Bukhansan Ui Station and take the so-called “Squirrel Taxi” (Daramjwi Taxi) up to the temple. It is about a 2.5km uphill walk from the station, so taking this shuttle taxi is highly recommended to save energy for your climb.

📝 Detailed Info

1. Going Up (Ascent) Wait in front of Ediya Coffee (Ui-Doseonsa Branch) near the station. Taxis designated for this route will stop here. These are shared taxis that shuttle climbers up to the Doseonsa parking lot.

2. Going Down (Descent) To return to the station from the Doseonsa parking lot, look for the queue near the safety posts in front of the Buddhist College building. Taxis will pull up there; simply board in order.
💡 Tip
- Cash Only: Drivers do not accept credit cards. Be sure to carry small bills (1,000 KRW notes).
- Operation Hours: On weekend mornings, taxis circulate frequently due to the high volume of climbers. However, in the late afternoon or evening, service may end early if there are few hikers descending. Plan your descent accordingly!
